How the ACT and SAT Compare

How ACT and SAT Scores Compare

ACT F.A.Q. When should students test? Will all colleges accept the ACT? Do colleges prefer one test over the other? Do certain types of students typically do better on the ACT? Do students need both the SAT and the ACT for college acceptance? Should my student prepare for the ACT? How will the ACT be changing? Does the ACT allow students to test with accommodations?

ACTSAT The Big Picture Neither the ACT nor the SAT is “easier” The ACT is faster paced and tests students on a broader scope of curriculum. The SAT allows more time to process and tests students on fewer skills but expects a higher level of critical thinking and reasoning from them. The bottom line is that students should try both tests to see if one is a better fit than the other.
