Sarina’s Math

Skittles The mode is 4 and 8.

1 liter=1,000 ml

Length x Width x Height = Volume Problem 2 3 4

The answer is 24 cb cm

How you do it What you do is you multiply all of the numbers and then you take that number and add cb (cubic) cm because you are working with centimeters and because it is a cube.

Do you want to try some more problems! Ok = 24

The frog is stuck in well.

Frog is stuck in a well. He can’t jump out he only can climb. In the day he climbs up 3 at night he slides back 2. How long does it take frog to climb out a 10-foot well?

Percentage This is a percentage %.A percentage is a fraction of 100.For example 63 over 100 is like 63% off am item in a store.

This is a graph to show that stuff changes.

Tessellations

These can Telesaltions

Not tessellating.

Sharing shortbreads with TukTuk You have 13 shortbreads to share with TukTuk.you can give 5 shortbreads to Tuk Tuk and give 5 to your self and have 3 remainders.

Follow the bouncing ball

Here is January 6, 2009 sky at night. The program is Stilareum.

Not polygons

A not polygon is earthier a line or a shape that has less then three sides.

Prime and Composite Numbers

A prime number is a number that can only be divided by its self or 1.

A composite number is when a number can be divided by anything.

This is how mixed numbers work.

It is a fraction that has one big number next to a smaller number with a line underneath it and a littler number under that.

Like this.

How much is this? (the cube is 1,000)

Answer is…

3,398

Did you get it right

Glossary

Bar Graph A Bar graph is a table that compares numbers. Bar graph

Century A century is 100 years

Congruent If there is a shape that has the same length on each side it is congruent.

Decade A decade is 10 years. I was born a decade ago. Is that so?

Denominator A denominator is the lower number of a fraction. 1 3

Dozen A dozen is a math term that means 12. You will find this number in some packages. Like eggs they come in Packages of 12.

Gross Gross is a math term that is 144.The way that gross is 144 is because 12 ed.

Baker’s dozen A baker’s dozen is a math term that means13.

Fortnight Fortnight means 14 days later. now14 days after that

Score A score is 20 years.

Perimeter

The perimeter is 14.

Combining like terms

Ok, so this is how you do it. Let’s say that your problem is 5q + 4q = ? This is how you do it. Five + 4 =9 right ?so all you have to do is add a verbal to the equation.

Pythagoras Pythagoras is a boy that figured out the pythagorus therum.

3 inches 4 inches 5 inches A =3 inches a b c B=4 inches C = 5 inches 2 A +b =c 22 2

The point

This is a point.. This point does not want to be a point so it decides to chang.

This is a line. The point that became a line doesn’t want to be a line anymore. So it decides to change.

Here is an angle The line decided that he doesn’t want to be a line he wants to be a …

Triangle. This is a triangle. Triangles don’t like being triangles because there are too many triangles in the world and that it is not special if there are a lot more of what you are. So he decided that he would change to some thing else. He wants to be an equilateral.

This is an square Being an equilateral is not fun (don’t ask why I don’t know I have never bin one.) So he decided to change to a parallelogram.

This is a parallelogram. Parallelograms are funny looking nobody wants to be one so he decided to change into a trapazoid.

This is a trapezoid Trapezoids look like up-side-down skirts I sure do not want to be that. So he changed into a pentagon.

This is a pentagon. Pentagons don’t have enough sides so he decided to change into a hexagon.

This is a hexagon Hexagons have one more side then a pentagon that is getting better but I think we still can have more sides so he decided to be a heptagon.

This is a heptagon Heptagons don’t look like some thing I would want to be so he decided to be an octagon.

This is an octagon Octagons are to comon I want some thing that is not nor

Multiplying by 10,100,

10 If you have a ten and you multiply it by a 6 all you do is take the 1 off the ten and add the number you are multiply in the ones place. 6 x 10 = 60 2 x 10 = 20

100 When you are multiplying by 100 you do almost the same thing as you do when you multiply by 10. But when you multiply with 100 you add a zero. You take the 1 off and add the number you are multiplying by. 8 x 100 = x 200 = 8,000.

Money decimals

25c= = c= = c = = c=1

Congruent or not

Congruent If something is congruent it means that it is exactly like another shape.

The Congruent Game. Directions: circle yes or no. Yes no

Once you get the hang of it it is easy.

Factors A factor is a number that you can multiply or divide by and you get that number.

Factors of 2: 1, 2 Factors of 5: 1, 5 Factors of 10: 1, 2, 5, 10 Factors of 15: 1, 3, 5, 15 Factors of 20: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20 Factors of 21: 1, 3, 7, 21

This is the real challenge. do 11 go into 22 ? yesno

Toothpick puzzle

directions You have 12 toothpicks and they are in a starting position witch I will show you on the next slide. Then you can only move 3 tooth picks, and you have to make 5 squares. You also have to ues all or the toothpicks.

Starting position

How to do it.

You did it! This is the ending position.

Averages When you are stuck on an average problem these are some tips on how to do it. Tip 1: first add up the numbers Tip 2: then how ever many numbers you are adding up divide the

Decimals

When you have a decimal it is like a dot. When you see a percentage and you need to do it as a decimal this is what you do.

The powers of 11

When you see a smaller number next to a big number is normally means in is something o that number. 1 2 = = = = = = =

= = =

Cat puzzle These are the instructions: you have to make both of the riders on top of the cats but one rider cant be up-side-down.

This is the puzzle now figure it out.

This is the ending position.
