Questions How do scientists identify minerals? What tools are used? Name at least 15 minerals we are using for our virtual lab? (no hypothesis for this question)

Hypothesis Hypothesize an answer for the first two questions.

Materials 1.Computer program 2.Paper and pencil

Procedure 1.Take lab report with you to computers and take excellent notes. 2.Follow procedure from the video. 3.Use the reference cards on the virtual lab to identify minerals. 4.After you have identified the first 5 minerals, reset the lab. 5.After you have identified the second set of 5 repeat step 4.

Procedure 6. Once you have identified and taken notes on 15 minerals, without guessing, come back to the classroom. 7. In the classroom we are going to finish writing up our virtual lab. 8. Labs are due on Monday.

Observations Leave plenty of room to make observation for the virtual lab.

Conclusion Answer all of the original questions. You will not receive an A if I cannot tell that you learned something from your conclusion.
