Background  In 2008, the Coalition for the Homeless approached Orange County and the City of Orlando about replacing the Men’s emergency shelter – The Pavilion  The concept was a new direction for addressing chronically homeless men in Orange County

Background  The project is a new Men’s Service Center, a 32,000 sq. ft. residential facility to house 250 men.  The collaborative effort will create a residential program to help get men off the street Into a stable environment On the road to stability and independence

New Men’s Service Center Joe Smith Life Today Joe has been a homeless veteran for 5 years, sleeping on the floor of the existing Pavilion. He currently:  Is receiving no benefits  Has some mental health concerns  Has little hope for change Life Tomorrow Joe is sleeping in a bed and benefiting from a structured program including:  Case management  VA benefit assistance  Mental health counseling  Hope for a self sufficient tomorrow

New Men’s Service Center  To be built on Coalition’s main campus, 639 W. Central Blvd.  Residential facility to accommodate 250 men  Separate sleeping quarters including dorms for different populations, i.e. substance abuse recovery; physically disabled; veterans  Dedicated kitchen and dining room

 The tri-party agreement we present to you today represents the collective efforts of many dedicated individuals.  Untold hours have been committed by dozens of business professionals from various sectors of the community.  After 18-months of discussions we have worked tirelessly to craft the tri-party agreement before you today.
