Presentation transcript:

A user interface, like the one created by the DOS operating system, that makes use of typed commands.

A computer interface that enables a user to control the computer and launch commands by pointing and clicking at graphical objects such as windows, icons, and menu items.

PROSCONS  An experienced user can enter commands quicker than selecting options using a lot of menus.  Can be used on a computer with a little memory and is very slow.  Difficult to remember all the possible commands  Error messages are not usually very helpful.

PROSCONS  Operations are self- explanatory  Operations are much easier using a GUI with a pointer  More than one program running at a time  WYSIWYG  Many programs use a similar interface  Provide good help facilities  Can take up a lot of memory.  Needs to be run on a fast computer  GUI may work slow if a computer is slow
