Based on information from Lord of the Flies and the Lord of the Flies WebQuest, two survival tips that increase survival on a deserted island are to build a fire and to salvage the plane wreckage for useful debris. For example, in Lord of the Flies, the boys saw a pig that could have been used for food, but they did not have a fire to cook the pig. It will be impossible to eat any animals without fire.
