Honors Diploma Law Ohio law ( ) gives the State Board wide authority to set criteria Minimum requirements: Students must meet the standard graduation requirements Students must also meet all but one of the extra criteria set by the State Board

New Honors Diplomas Matched Expectations? World languages should be included in all Honors Diplomas Concerns that districts may lack capacity to implement
New Honors Diplomas Benefit? Adding world languages requirements to all honors diplomas would make them more beneficial Little to no external benefit to students Students may be less well rounded by selecting particular honors diplomas early in high school
New Honors Diplomas Increased Opportunities? Adding world languages requirements to all would increase student opportunities Adding more honors diplomas will not necessarily increase opportunities for students
