e. Perform chemical activities (metabolism) f. Contain DNA

Vocabulary 1. stimulus- anything that effects the activity of an organism, organ or tissue. 2. Response- a reaction to a stimulus 3. Metabolism- how an organism uses fuel; the chemical activities that go on in an organism. 4. Asexual reproduction- a single parent produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent.

5. Sexual reproduction- two parents are required to produce offspring that will share characteristics of both parents. 6. homeostasis- the maintenance of a stable internal environment. 7. Ingestion- eating 8. Digestion- breaking down of food from complex to simple substances that the body can use. 9. Excretion- an organisms release of waste materials. 10. Respiration- taking in oxygen and other gases and using them to produce energy.
