Lesson 5 Goals for the course pg 13 Personal Mastery As a leader and a growing person, you should identify some areas in your life you feel you want to improve. All effective leaders are seeking what some refer to as “personal mastery”. What does personal mastery mean to you?

Lesson 5-Goals Basically, it means that leaders want to be all that they can be. They never reach a point in their lives where they are satisfied with who they are as a person. They are reaching. They are growing. They continue to strive to become better. They see the need for learning. They are interested in the world around them. They want their lives to make a difference in the world. They love to meet people who are different from themselves. They want to know what it would be like to be in another’s shoes or in their skin. They have a very clear idea about the kind of person they ultimately want to become. Now, you are only years old, you are certainly not there yet, especially the last one; however, it is very important for you to begin to think about these things, if you want to become a successful citizen and an effective leader in your community.

Write them on page 15 Remember: Leadership is a decision!

Leadership is a decision Have you made the decision to be a leader… To be the best leader and person you can be? I hope you have. This country desperately needs for you to make that commitment. If our nation is to be great again, then each of us must be great!
