 The Frontal lobe is located at the forefront of the skull and is the largest sector of the brain.

 The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that regulates decision making, problem solving and emotions. It is also responsible for consciousness.

 If the frontal lobe is damaged it can cause major mood swings and off behaviour that can change your personality as well as problems with decision making.

 Mike survived for 18 months with only his brain stem left and one ear. The brain stem sends the brains messages to the rest of the body like how to eat, breathe etc. Mike may have survived for so long because his brain stem had stored common information needed for survival and transmitted it around his body, taking over the role of his brain.
