Genesis 3 (Adam and Eve)

because you are created in God’s image you have the freedom to live in God’s love.

Genesis 3 (Adam and Eve) “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Gen 3:7

Genesis 3 (Adam and Eve) Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” Gen 3:8-10

Genesis 4 (Cain and Abel)

Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. Gen 4:2

Genesis 4 (Cain and Abel) “The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.” Gen 4:4-5

Genesis 6 (The Flood)

When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Gen 6:1-2

Genesis 6 (The Flood) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days— and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. Gen 6:4

Genesis 6 (The Flood) The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. Gen 6:5

Genesis 11 (Babel)

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” Gen 11:1-4

Genesis 3-11 When we are at the centre of the story, it is no longer the story of God.

Genesis 3-11 When we are at the centre of the story, it is no longer the story of God.

Genesis 3 (Adam and Eve)

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring[a] and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen 3:15

Genesis 4 (Cain and Abel)

Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. Gen 4:13-15

Genesis 6 (The Flood)

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chron. 16:9

Genesis 11 (Babel)

So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. Gen 11:8-9

when we are at the centre of the story, it is no longer the story of God.

but… When God is at the centre of the story, it is a story of epic adventure
