Unit 1 School life

When we speak of school life, what can you think of? Brain storm :

Today we are going to have a brief view of school life in the UK. Enjoy some photos

The following pictures show some parts of high school in the UK. What can you see in the pictures?

Huge campus & low buildings

In the picture, we can see … …. They are very different from those in China. We usually have …… to make sure that students have enough space to study in and play in.

Lockers for every student

In the picture, we can see lockers for each student. In China, most schools do not have such equipment in the classroom.

Small class sizes

In the picture, we can see a large classroom with fewer students in it,usually no more than 30. The students sit face to face in two lines. The students are putting up their hands, eagerly to answer the teacher’s questions.

In China, there are more students in high school, perhaps per class. We students sit in several lines facing the blackboard. And in most cases, students are also eager to answer the teachers’ questions and take part in the class actively.

A lot of outdoor activities

When classes are over in the afternoon, they take part in different ……, which makes their school life more interesting. They do not have to hurry …… to do ……. In the picture, two students are … … with their teacher. They get along …… with their teacher and they look like friends.
