SOURCE CARD PRACTICE A source card contains a citation, which is an abbreviation you will use to create a Works Cited.
A source card for a book should be as follows: Last name, First name. Title. City of publication: Publisher, date. Print. Make sure that you use the hanging indent and correct punctuation.
Let’s practice. You can find the title and author on the outside/front. Look at the second page to find the date and city.

Sitomer, Alan Lawrence. Hip-Hop High School. New York: Hyperion, Print.

For web sites, include the following: Last name, First. “Title of Page.” Title of Site. Date it was written. Publisher’s name. Web. Access date.
A web site with no author: “Title of Page.” Title of Site. Date it was written. Publisher’s name. Web. Access date.
Citing the entire site: Title of Site. Date it was written. Publisher’s name. Web. Access date.
