Open Communication Establish trust between you and your mentees Be friendly and open Exchange s Maintain the role of an older brother/sister Create a connection with them Confidentiality!

Keep your deen! Remember that we are Muslims. Dress appropriately Watch your language Be their role model (remember they are going to look up to you).

Resources Utilize your resources! You provide what the mentee needs to challenge them academically. Begin exposing them to tools that will become useful (ex. gmail, quizlet,etc.) What has worked for you. Help them develop the habits that we wish we had at their ages.
