Presentation transcript:

 Expensive, inconvenient, and it pollutes the environment.  And it is getting worse!

 Promote conservation and cooperation  Break down cost  Convenience  Location aware

 Description of our 3 Tasks  Insights into the Design Process  Current UI and Features  Interactive Demo!  Future Improvements

 Plan a bus trip from your current location to the UW HUB today at the current time.  Plan a bus trip from your current location to the UW HUB, but you don’t want bus # 73.  Plan a trip from your current location to the UW HUB tomorrow at 9 am and minimize your environmental impact. Save the HUB location for future access.

 Contextual Inquiry and ESM  Video Prototype  Low-Fi Prototype and Usability Testing  Interactive Prototype  Heuristic Evaluation

Streamlined the application by removing carpools, calendar and profiles

Slightly updated the organization of saved addresses, locations and routes

Added saved, calendar and current time buttons and included the map

Added sort filters and more information about the transportation options

Reorganized the navigation buttons and the view modes and added save button

 Carpooling features got removed  Calendar and Contacts handled through iPhone rather than TripMe  Primarily for spontaneous travel  Routing is not implemented

 Directions page doesn’t tell user which transportation mode selected.  No way to go back to the beginning without hitting back  "Go" button is confusing.  "Show traffic" button available for clicking on the 'Street View' and 'Directions' views.  Help button nonexistent on other screens

 Fix major issues from Heuristic Evaluation  Feedback for actions with animation  Improved environmental features  More route options like Scenic routes  Touchscreen enabled map features

 Planning as you go makes travelling easy  Travel should be getting simpler rather than more complex  Providing convenient alternatives saves time, money and the environment
