“The Skull and the Arrow”

A story that has two meanings– a literal meaning and a symbolic meaning. Many times, allegories are intended to teach a lesson about life.

The reason why something happens.

The result of something that has happened.

The dictionary definition of a word.

The association and emotion that have been attached to a word beyond its literal meaning.

(adj.) gently probing; uncertain. His fingers were tentative as they touched his painful wound.

(adj) without the power to move. Wounded, the man lay inert.

(n) great suffering or pain. The pain and anguish were so great that the man passed out.

(n) fundamental truth He fought for the principle that a man’s property was his alone.
