Content Objective: Examine and evaluate issues of unity and diversity in world history by arranging a timeline of events from the Mexican Revolution and rating their level of unity.

Timeline: Mexican Revolution

Important Events Your Timeline Should Include: 1870s-1911 Porfirio Diaz rules with an Iron Fist 1908 Francisco I. Madero declares he’ll run for President in Madero Runs for president, Diaz throws him in jail November 10, 1910 Madero writes a call to revolution- Revolution officially begins Pascual Orozco, Francisco “Pancho” Villa, Emiliano Zapata attack Diaz

Also… 1911 Diaz Flees, leaves General Victoriano Huerta in charge of army Madera returns as president 1913 Madero killed by Huerta w/ help of USA Villa, Zapata, Alvaro Obregon, Venustantio Carranza defeat Huerta August 1914 Carranza declares himself president

Lastly… Villa & Zapata team up, fight Obregon & Carranza Fighting continues between Villa & Zapata vs. Obregon & Carranza April 1919 Zapata tricked into meeting Carranza’s general and meeting. Late 1919 Carranza killed b/c of way he murdered Zapata Alvaro Obregon elected President
