Leading-in What can we do about global warming? Can you think of various ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air?

Skimming What is the purpose of the first letter? What does Earth Care suggest doing to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? What sentence structure is used as suggestions? How is the second letter closed?

Scanning Why did O write the letter rather than other students? What attitude does O have towards environmental problems?

What does Earth Care think of people’s power to improve the environment? How can we use as little energy as we can in our daily life? Why do we do recycling? Why do we plant trees? What would you do if you are an educator concerned with global warming?

Discussion & Presentation Which suggestion can you carry out? Give reasons for your answers and write them on a separate piece of paper. Then make a presentation to the class.
