What is Gun Control and Criminal Justice? Gun Control: Gun control generally refers to laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms. Criminal Justice: Criminal justice is the system of practices and institutions of governments directed at upholding social control, deterring and mitigating crime, or sanctioning those who violate laws with criminal penalties and rehabilitation efforts.

Bernie Sanders on Gun Control. He believes that everyone should agree on the national gun debate. Gun manufacturers should not be held guilty for the misuse of their products. Says it is a state issue, but it differs in rural and urban areas. Voted for having background checks and closing loopholes on allowing private sellers to sell guns online.

Bernie Sanders on Criminal Justice. He believes that the United States spends to much money on prison but it should be spent on education, training, and jobs. He believes police should be military trained, says that body cameras are necessary and that they should be held guilty for their abusive crimes. He does not believe in the death penalty, he says that civilized nations should not execute criminals.

Marco Rubio on Gun Control. He says that guns is a criminal justice problem not a gun control problem. He wants to protect the second amendment because he believes that it is a basis of our democracy. He believes that gun control laws don’t and would not work

Marco Rubio on Criminal Justice. He believes that we deserve a fair and just criminal justice system without violating the 9 th amendment. He wants to pass more laws against prostitution and sex trafficking.

Donald Trump on Gun Control. He is totally against gun control. He says that Democrats and Republicans are wrong on guns. Supports the ban on assault weapons, longer waiting periods to purchase guns and background checks. Protects the second amendment.

Donald Trump on Criminal Justice. He says that now criminal justice is weak and that we need to get a lot tougher. He is with the death penalty, says it is uncivilized to keep the murderers living. Wants judges to be elected and held accountable. Wants more anticrime policies.

Hillary Clinton on Gun Control. She will fight to keep guns out of the hands of abusers, violent criminals, and mentally ill. Not allow military weapons on the street. Is for a background very detailed background check.

Hillary Clinton on Criminal Justice. Says our criminal justice system is out of balance. She wants to end the “era of mass incarceration”. She has partial thoughts on the death penalty. Wants to end discrimination in the criminal justice system.

Ben Carson on Gun Control. He protects the second amendment. Says the second amendment protects us against tyranny. But believes that guns shouldn't be in the hands of the mentally ill.

Ben Carson on Criminal Justice. He is for giving police body cameras. He is for the death penalty, but he thinks it should be decided on state level. He is not willing to change anything in the criminal justice system.
