Army Organization Company- 100 men usually smaller/Captain Regiment-5-8 Companies- (800 men full strength)- Colonel-larger regiments divided into battalions. Brigade-2-5 regiments-2600 men-Brigadier General. Division- 2-4 Brigades-8,000 men-Major General. Corps-2-3 Divisions-20,000 men- Major General (Union) or Lt. General (Confederate). Confederate Corps were larger. Army- Composed of any number of Corps. Major General (North), Full General (South). Confederates at Gettysburg
