2. The Aphrodite was found on the island of Melos in 1820. Ever since it has been discovered and brought to the islands it has intrigued and fascinated people ever since. The statue was found by The Marquis de Riviere who then presented the sculpture to Louis XVIII, who then donated the sculpture to the Louvre. FAMOUS ARTWORKS

3. Chancellor Séguier at the Entry of Louis XIV into Paris in 1660. This artwork is known for being one of those paintings that is stunning and amazing enough to be in the Louvre. It was made in 1794 by a man named Joseph-Marie. The picture is originally mentioned as a belonging to Duke d'Estissac, who was a decendant of the Chancellor. FAMOUS ARTWORKS

4. The Alexander in Babylon was a painting to show an important event in history. It was made by Charles Le Brun, as he was looking for a certain subject that needed a style with and appropriate blend of solemnity and gravity in one scene. He also needed the painting to look realistic as he made the background look as if the city is expanding outwards. He also shows motion between all the soldiers and civilians in that scene. 5. I thought the Louvre was a very interesting museum because of its taste of different art. I like how it doesn’t stick to one certain style of painting but it has different types of artworks and masterpieces in it. It has statues and paintings and virtual artwork as well. The history of most of the paintings also makes me interested in it because the history has to do with many different events in the past, very important ones to be more in detail. I would like to fly to Paris to be able to see the different artwork in the museum and be able to see the artworks that I personally like from seeing online. What also intrigues me is that the museum is used in many movies such as a recently released one called The Day After Tomorrow. The museum is used as a housing of an alien base. I can tell the museum is amazing because there are many people that are going to the museum daily.
