9 Notes Reparations When countries that lost a war are forced to pay the winning countries A way to pay for damages done for the war

10 Notes Yalta Conference February 1945, meeting between Stalin, FDR and Churchill to discuss what would happen to Europe after WWII What would happen to occupied countries? What would happen to Germany?

11 Notes Potsdam Conference July-August 1945, meeting between USSR, US and Great Britain to officially agree following WWII What would happen to occupied countries? What would happen to Germany? Who would be paid reparations and how much?

12 Notes Germany Divided One decision made at Potsdam Germany is divided between USSR, US, Great Britain, and France. Each country would help rebuild their section Germany Choose its government, economy etc.

13 Notes Conflicting Interests Disagreements between US and USSR leaders lead to tensions and hostility, starting the Cold War
