Taylor Cox High School Life Skills 6 th Block

While playing competitive sports, I have to be in top condition to prevent injuries and to prevent fatigue. I want to work my hardest in physical therapy to prevent myself from getting surgery and later injuries involving my knees.

By March 31st, I will improve my activity levels by participating in T25, running on the treadmill, doing Physical Therapy, or playing soccer 3 days a week. Also, I plan to drink at least 6 bottles of water a day to stay hydrated.

Who: Myself What: T25, PT, soccer, etc. 6 bottles of water When: 3 days a week Where: At my house, Cincinnati Sports Medicine, Town and Country, etc. How: Helping my knee recover, get in shape for soccer

I have accomplished many things. I have gotten in shape and was actually the most conditioned person on my club team. I have also decreased my chances of getting surgery on my knees. Instead of losing weight, I have gained more muscle in my quads so that my knee caps stay in place.

My most successful part of this process was that I gained self-confidence and challenged myself to work as hard as I possibly can. I pushed myself to my limit. I didn’t worry about my performance being perfect in other’s eyes. I gave the perfect effort in everything I did. If I repeated this process, I would like to challenge myself again and “up it” to 6 days a week.

Throughout this process, I’ve learned about how much water impacts my performance. It ensures that I will have enough energy to continue to run the 7 miles on early morning practices, or whatever else our coaches have planned for us. I would do this again to gain confidence and improve my conditioning. One bad point about this project was that I got hurt and I am not allowed to run and practice. So because of this, I have had to work around my injury and continue. One good thing was that I found different ways to complete this project, no matter the circumstances. This project was a good one, and I would encourage others to challenge themselves like I did. I don’t think I should’ve chosen a different task to do because this is such an important part in my life.
