1 Propaganda Begins Propaganda was a popular form of media during World War II. The United States, Germany, and other countries had used this type of advertisement to lecture its citizens. But, what propaganda is most famous for is the fact that it is known for lying. It is a form of media that exaggerates what is really being sold. In Germany’s case, they had many forms of propaganda to show its citizens that Jews were bad, and deserved to die. They wanted it to look like the massacre they were creating was okay to do.

2 Radio Propaganda During this high time of propaganda, there were three types of radio propaganda occurring: White – This is when radio stations from a certain country, were broadcasting in that same country and talking about truthful events from that country. This was the most honest radio propaganda available. Grey - This type of propaganda is when one radio station is broadcasting from one country, but may or may not be talking about untruthful events of another country. Black – Black propaganda was the most dishonest radio propaganda there was. This is when one country creates a radio station in another country, and tells its citizens lies about the original country to make it look better.

3 Germany: The People’s Radio Germany had created a way to make every German citizen believe and follow in anti- Semitism. Through propaganda, they had created “The People’s Radio”. The People’s Radio, was a radio created by the Nazis for the German population in 1933. Its sole purpose was to make it seem like the Nazis were winning the war. Every German manufacturer was required to make one, and every household was supposed to have one.

4 The People’s Radio This was a key example of black radio propaganda. Because the radio was German manufactured, it only stayed on German radio streams and did not allow other stations from different countries. The People’s Radio let German citizens know what they had to say, but no one else. This was a tag shown on the People’s Radios. It reads: “Think about this: Listening to foreign broadcasts is a crime against the national security of our people. It is a Fuehrer Order punishable by prison at hard labor.“ Further into the war, the highest consequence turned into death.
