3  NO native people live in Antarctica.  Scientist, their assistant, and teams of maintenance spend about a year their.  In Summer a population of 2000 to 3000 people live on forty bases spread around the continent and surrounding islands.  In winter the population drops to 500 when the scientists go home.

4  Antarctica is our last continental wilderness.  Its extreme climate and isolation have created a wonder land of great significance.  It has a major influence on the worlds weather systems and climate to the Southern Hemisphere.
