2. Most of them are 15-16 years old (75%). A total of 154 students have been taken part in this survey. The number of boys and girls is very similar (78/76).

3. The majority of parents work, although the percentage of fathers working is about 20% higher as in mothers. Parental educational level is of the same order in both, men and women, and nearly 70% have secondary studies or higher.

5. Internet is used every day by nearly all the students (95%). About half of all students use it between 3-5 hours per day. It should be noted a 5% who states to use Internet more tan 15 hours. Almost half of the kids use the Internet to connect to a social networks (45%), followed by browsing and e-mail and messaging with lower values (13% and 11% respectively). Only a 3% use the Net to do school work and a 2% to shopping.

8. Facebook and Twitter are the social networks with more followers (36% and 31%). Almost 75% use them daily.

17. Concerning parents, it seems that many of them don’t pay much attention to their children’s Internet activity. Only a 24% of the students state to speak to their parents about it. The rest do it sometimes (52%) or not at all (24%). Besides, 66% of parents don’t supervise children when they are on the Internet. Parents using any system of parental control are in a minority, just a 5 percent.
