British Values BY NATASHA PORTER, MICHAEL MCCORMICK AND DANIEL TAYLOR HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL AND CARDINAL HEENAN TEAM 17

As a diverse, multi- faith and multi- cultural country, tolerance of other faiths is an important British Value. In Britain we accept that other people might have different beliefs than ours and they may believe in different religions.

What do we mean to be tolerant? You have to have an open mind Everybody has to be accepted and has to be ready to accept

Tolerance of other faiths  An acceptance that other people have different faiths or beliefs to oneself. Should be accepted and not cause of prejudicial or discriminatory behaviour.

How we can work together to become one.  Respect others for what they are and don’t try to change them.  Don’t judge by religion or race, we are all just people.  Focus on the similarities between faiths and work to accept the differences.  Be open to different views and opinions.  Make words and actions reflect a tolerant attitude.

Let us pray In far and near lands, In past and present times, Wars rage over religion, Something that is designed to unite us, Divides and destroys us. Let us forget these ways. In this modern age, We must learn to accept, We must learn to respect, We must learn to tolerate, If not for individuals for humanity. Let us tolerate. Together working as one, We can achieve more, If we can put aside our differences, And we can acquire peace. And live in harmony with, Everyone.
