5. Feed Costs Example: 18% CP alfalfa (DM basis) $90/ton, 88% DM 2,000 lb x 0.88 = 1,760 lb DM 1,760 lb DM x 0.18 = 316.8 lb CP in ton ($90/ton)/316.8 lb CP = $0.28/lb CP
