2 Summary Egyptians designed their clothing for hot climate. Males wore kilts that reached their knees. Some were shown in art not wearing clothing or shoes. Women wore long dresses with straps.

3 Clothing Women made clothes from linen, a plant fiber Animal skins were sometimes worn by priests and pharos in their roles as first servants of the gods People wore tunics, with fringes hanging on legs called Calasiris Clothes were expensive and hot, Egyptians wore as little as possible Men wore kilts, women wore dresses with straps Manually washing clothes was hard work since they didn’t have soap
