The following recipe makes 2 servings: 3/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips 7/16 cups of sweetened condensed milk 6/16 teaspoons (tsp.) vanilla extract You are making 8 servings. Convert the recipe from 2 servings to 8 servings with your group. You have 10 minutes! Warm-up (independent, level 0 noise): Please complete this in your journal below the CQ. Directions: Please come in and get your journal. On your next blank page, write today’s date on the top line. Title this page ~ Making Fudge (Day 2). Below the date, write the Challenge Question.

2 Presentation Our goal: I can use my knowledge of fraction operations to convert a fudge recipe based on 2 servings to 8 servings. Assignment: Groups 1 and 2… compare your recipes. Do they match? If not, re-do the math until they match. Groups 3 and 4 … compare your recipes. Do they match? If not, re-do the math until they match. *You have 5 minutes to complete your recipe with your groups.*

3 Presentation: How did we do today? Did we complete the daily warm-up with 0 noise level? Did we maintain classroom operating procedures? Did we compare our recipes and make sure that our math is correct?

4 Learning Together Our goal: I can use my knowledge of fraction operations to convert a fudge recipe based on 2 servings to 8 servings. Assignment: Convert the recipe for 8 servings. Carefully measure out the ingredients into the pan. Warm the ingredients until it looks like chocolate frosting. STIR AT ALL TIMES!! *You have 30 minutes to bake your fudge with your group.* **If you finish early, work on any corrections or missing assignments for this class.**
