2 Auto Modes “P,” “A,” & “S”  Program- Automatic, no flash  Aperture Priority- You choose the Aperture (size of shutter opening) and the camera chooses the best shutter speed.  Shutter Priority- You choose the shutter speed and the camera choose the best aperture.

3 If you want to control the depth of field, you use Aperture Priority.

4 If you want to freeze motion, or blur motion, you would use Shutter Priority.

5 Portrait uses in camera software to soften skin tones, focuses in the center. Landscape, uses greater depth of field, high f-stops, focuses on closest object.

6 Child uses software to make colors vivid and skin soft; focuses on closest subject. Sports uses a fast shutter speed to freeze action; the camera focuses continuously with slight depression of button.

7 Close-up the camera automatically focuses on the subject in the middle. Night Portrait tries to balance the main subject with the background in low light

8 The manual setting lets you set both the aperture size and the shutter speed. Manual gives you the most flexibility of options and effects when you know how to use it.
