4. Vera Lynn Vera Lynn was an English singer in WW2 and she was born in London March 1917. She is still alive! She started singing when she was very young. Her most famous song was probably We’ll meet again. She became a Dame in 1975. Vera went abroad to sing to the soldiers. She also read messages over the wireless from the solders wives and partners. She made 3 movies during World War 2, ‘We’ll Meet Again’ in 1942, ‘Rhythm Serenade’ in 1943 and ‘One Exciting Night’ in 1944. She got married in 1940 to Harry Lewis who acted as her manager. She was known as the forces sweetheart and was very popular. This is what some people did when they heard her singing.

7. Glenn Miller  Glenn Miller was an American musician in World War 2.  He was in a very big and very good band.  His band wrote a song called ‘In the Mood’.  There is to many people for me to name right now.  Glenn was born in 1904 and he died in 1940.  He played an instrument called the trombone, I think.  He was known to die in an air crash but his body was never found!
