2  13 th year overall with Washington  20 years total counting being assistant at Clay and Riley  158-108 Overall Head Coaching record  Graduated from Bethel and was apart of National Championship team  Lives in South Bend with his wife Sarah and two kids (Kevin & Carter)

4  1 st year as Freshman Head Coach  5 th year overall with program as JV/Varsity Assistant  Played basketball at Clay High School and later in college at Iowa Central  Lives in South Bend with his fiancé Lindsey and daughter Mariah

9  Once you are apart of the program, you will forever be a Panther.  Since 2006, the program has sent 41 players onto college to further their careers and most importantly, get an education!  It is very common seeing most Alumni come back to the gym/locker room….

11 Expectations of the Student Athlete in School All Players will attend and participate in every class throughout the school day. All freshman will attend study table everyday. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors that fail to make the honor roll will attend study table three days a week. If you do not attend study table and complete your work you will not play in the upcoming game. Any misbehavior in school or outside of school may result in any of the following. Loss of Playing Time Missing Games Excused from the Team

12 Expectations of player behavior on road trips All players and managers are required to wear a shirt and tie on conference games. If a student needs a tie we will provide it for them in advance. (Green ties will be provided by coach) All players will abide by the seating chart on the bus and sit where they are designated too. All headphones and head gear will be put away before exiting the bus to enter the school building. Cell phones on the bus can be taken away by a coach if it is being misused. Parents will be contacted if their son’s phone has been taken away. Coach Johnston will check the bus at the end of the trip. All trash and belongings must be picked up. Every player will ride the bus to and from school for all games.

13 Expectations of player behavior during the JV and Varsity Games During the JV game the entire varsity team needs to sit immediately behind the JV bench. All cell phones will be locked in a locker by a coach. All JV players will be seated by the time the varsity game starts behind the varsity bench. Some JV players may be required to keep stats during the varsity game. All Players will wear ankle braces during their game. Any freshman player that attends a JV/Varsity game is to sit behind the bench.

14  All players will need to sign social media contract.  This is to ensure the proper use and the school code of conduct is being followed. We also want to make sure players are using it in the best interest of the program. 15  Shoes will cost $99.00 this year.  Checks need to be made out to South Bend Washington Boys Basketball

16  Players are required to have ankle braces at all times. These are standard braces like those to the right.  They can be purchased at sporting good stores.  If cost is a problem, please see us coaches.

17  Fundraisers-We will be selling pizza tags/Sports Illustrated issues  T-shirts- Washington Basketball t-shirts will be for sale  Team Dinners- We will be having more team dinners this year. Locations will be announced well in advance. ▪ Team mom? Any volunteers.  Apparel for sale!!!!!!!!!
