2 Remember adverbs? They describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. They answer the questions: 1.How 2.When 3.Where 4.To what extent

3 Like a prepositional phrase can work as an adjective, it can also work as an adverb. Remember, a prepositional phrase is a group of words containing a preposition, its object, and any modifiers of the object. A prepositional phrase that works as an adverb is called an adverb phrase.

4 Adverb phrases answer the questions: 1.How 2.When 3.Where And modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.

5 Sue ran toward the lake. Ted was eager for the race. Melanie swims early in the morning. Hint: Label the subject and verb FIRST!
