2  Terracing- carving small flat pots.  Import- A good from another country.  Export- A good sold to another country.  Pedagogue- A boy slave.  Ethics- Moral duty.  Rhetoric- The study of oratory.  Sappho- A poem or poet.  Sophist- Men that opened schools for older boys.

3  Athens was named after the god Athena.  They built temples.  Boys age seven are to be taught by a pedagogue.  Athens children study : reading, writing, grammar, music, poetry, gym.

4  Athens traded olives, grapes, wine, figs, and other goods.

5  Women – Managing household, managing slaves,( and like us, ) raising children.  Men – to help around the house, and teach at schools.

6  More things they traded were-  Gold  Silver  Iron  Grain  Fimber  Oil

7  Houses were made of sun dried brick.  The house included – living room, dining room, bedrooms, kitchens, store rooms.  Marriage was very important in athens.  Athen women are citizens.
