1 Do Now: Look up any words you didn’t spell correctly last lesson. Write out the correct spellings three times.

2 Do Now: What was the most important word from last lesson? Why was it the most important?

3 Do Now: I’ve circled three mistakes from last lesson. Decide how you could improve them, then add your corrections.

4 Do Now: On a post it note, write down 3 things you learned last lesson. Place it on the board here:

5 Do Now: Write definitions for 2 key words from last lesson (don’t include the words) Give them to your partner so they can work out the key words.

6 Do Now: Write a tweet on what you learned last lesson OR what you hope to learn this lesson. Remember, only 140 characters (including spaces). Will you use any #hashtags?

7 Do Now: Think of a question you could ask to another pupil on something they learned last lesson. Make it multiple choice with a correct answer and 2 incorrect answers (make one of those a “distractor”)

8 Do Now: On a post it note, write down one thing that has really “stuck” with you from recent lessons. Place it on the board here :

26 TIME UP! Copy the passage, adding the full stops and capital letters. There are 8 full stops and 10 capital letters to find. How the Romans made roads first, the romans dug ditches at each side of the road and piled the earth into the middle this made the road higher than the land round on top of this, the romans piled rubble made of chalk to make the road hard, they piled flints on top of the rubble and on top of this, they laid a layer of stones and gravel this layer was curved, so that rain water trickled into the ditches sometimes they put paving stones on the surface this made the road more smooth
