4 Mali Why is Sundiata famous? (recall) Why did Mansa Musa travel to Mecca? (explain) How did Mansa Musa’s belief in Islam affect the country and people of Mali? (summarize)

5 Songhai Where did the people of Songhai live? (recall) Do you think the fact that Askia was a Muslim affected the way he ruled? (inference) What was Askia the Great real name? (explain)

6 Activity A TRAVEL BROCHURE Your group must create a travel brochure The brochure can highlight any of the three West African empires. Your goal is to encourage people to travel to your country. Make sure you place an emphasis the awesome things you learned about the Kingdoms of West Africa.
