2 warm up 8/19/15 Warm ups need to be in complete sentences, not just the answers Write down the 5 states that touch New York. So you would write…”New York is touched by…..” Quick write (it is WICOR Weds): react to the following quote with your opinion, thoughts, ideas. 30 word minimum response for full pts. 3 Warm up 8/20/15 Take out your 13 colonies map. Looking at the southern colonies, list them in order from north to south. “The southern colonies from north to south are…”

4 Vocabulary assignment As much as possible, use definitions from the chapter vs the internet. It will relate to our topic better Use your own words as much as possible

5 Schedule today Warm up Review for 13 colonies map test Start Vocabulary Review again! You will get a list of the colonies and a map. It is matching. 13 colonies & the 3 regions. HW – Study for test & finish your vocab

7 Map test time! When you finish your test, turn it in on the desk by the door. Take out your vocabulary words. If you are not finished, do it now. If you are finished, read through them. You may NOT give your list to your neighbor to copy. That is cheating.

Early leaders in America John Smith – GB, Jamestown William Penn – Quaker, started Pennsylvania Roger Williams – RI – govt and church run separately Anne Hutchinson – Puritan – went to RI for freedom of religion, argued that she didn’t need a minister to talk to God Early Life in America 1607 – Jamestown – 1 st colony 1620 – Plymouth - pilgrims House of Burgesses – 1 st law-making body in America, Virginia Quakers – simple faith, freedom of ideas Many colonies did not separate church & govt.
