2 Language Arts – Warm Up 10/13/15 SIT IN YOUR YELLOW GROUPS.  “Number the Stars” Journal  Complete the journal for CHAPTER 15 only.  Each day, you will complete a journal for the chapter we read the day before.  If you finish early, finish any work needed in your “Number the Stars” folder.  Your homework packet is due THURSDAY.  “N.T.S.” Final Folder Check - FRIDAY

3 Language Arts – Work Session 10/13/15  Essential Question: How can I apply reading and vocabulary skills to aid in comprehension?  Standard: ELAGSE6RL1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.  Standard: ELAGSE6RL– Determine a theme and/or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.  Standard: ELAGSE6RL3– Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

4 Language Arts – Work Session 10/13/15  We will read chapter 16 as a class today.  As you read, think about tomorrow’s journal: What did the handkerchief do? Why was this so important?  “V.I.P.” – Tuesday (one person only)

5 Language Arts – Closing Session 10/13/15  “V.I.P.” Select one character from the book for today (Tuesday). Select one character from the book for today (Tuesday). Answer the “Who? What? When?
