Training

What is PagerDuty PagerDuty is an incident management platform that provides reliable incident alerting via email, push, SMS, and phone. Supports automatic escalations, on-call scheduling and other functionality to help teams detect and fix infrastructure problems quickly.

Team Name: Schedules: Escalation Policies: Services: Our team in PagerDuty

How it works Events from {insert monitoring tools} will trigger “incidents” on our PagerDuty services Who is notified about the incident will be dependent on the escalation policy associated with the service. The escalation policy will contain our on-call schedules and additional people who need to be notified when an incident is triggered. The escalation policy will also determine who incidents should escalate to if nobody responds to the incident within {escalation time out #} minutes. If you are on-call, you will be notified based on the notification rules set up in your user profile.

You will have {escalation time out #} minutes to acknowledge or resolve the incident before it automatically escalates to the next level on-call. What do I do when I receive an alert for an incident?

1.Acknowledge the incident if you are going to work on the issue. You will have {incident acknowledgement time out #} minutes to resolve the incident after acknowledging. If you need more time, snooze the incident. Otherwise, it will re-notify you and whoever else is on-call. 2.Resolve the incident if it will not be resolved automatically via email or the API. 3.Escalate/Reassign the incident if it requires the attention of another team or user. You can escalate/reassign incidents to other levels of the escalation policy, to an entirely different escalation policy, or to an individual user What do I do when I receive an alert for an incident?
