One thing we did for grassroots was juggling. It took a while, but we went from one juggling ball to two juggling balls. Then from two juggling balls to three juggling balls.

Another thing we did for grassroots was aerobics. For aerobics we moved around to music.

For eating healthy, we brought in healthy snacks and learned about the four food groups.

We had “Healthy Lifestyle Lists” where we recorded all of the healthy things we did daily.

Our class had two healthy snacks that we evaluated. We learned how to read labels!!

Porridge The first healthy snack we had was porridge. Porridge gives you B-vitamins which helps the body utilize energy. It also gives you Iron, and carbohydrate. Iron helps you build and maintain blood. Carbohydrates are the chief source of energy to the body.

For the second healthy snack we had apple, cheese, and crackers. The apple is from the fruit and vegetables group so it gives us Vitamin A and vitamin C. Vitamin A helps you see properly and keeps skin healthy. Vitamin C helps to keep tissue healthy and aids in wound healing. The cheese is from milk and milk products, which gives you calcium, riboflavin, Vitamin A, and Protein. Calcium builds and maintains bones and teeth. Riboflavin helps the body use energy and keeps skin healthy. Vitamin A helps you see properly and keeps skin healthy. Protein builds and maintains healthy muscles and tissue. The crackers are in the bread and cereals group, which gives you B-vitamins, iron, and carbohydrate. The B-vitamins help the body utilize energy, the iron helps build and maintain blood, and the carbohydrate is the chief source of energy to the body.
