You may need to zoom out first by using the zoom function located on the left hand sign under the smaller picture of your selected photo After fixing that I suggest you start of with the settings already applied to get started What this tool does is mixes the colors of the photo and gives it the look of a brush stroke (this is useful for getting rid of hard edges)
