Beginning A PowerPoint Presentation To begin click on the Windows 2000 folder. Then double click on PowerPoint. If you do not see a Windows 2000 folder go to start, scroll up to programs, and then scroll down to PowerPoint and double click on it. Click in the circle that states “open an existing presentation”. Then scroll down to “PowerPoint presentation for class” and click on it. You should now have the presentation open. Then hit double arrow at bottom right corner going downward to go to the next page.
Entering Text(Title) Subtitle In order to enter your text you must first delete the text on the slide. This must be done in three stages, one for the Title and subtitle, one for the left column and one for the right column. To do this click on the text and highlight it by dragging the mouse over it. Then hit the delete key. Now you will be able to enter your title, subtitle and arguments. Enter your con arguments here. (Pro on left.) Click on double downward arrows.
Explain each of your arguments in one detailed paragraph. In these arguments you will insert hyperlinks to supporting material. If you need to insert an additional slide click on insert and then click on new slide. You will now be given the option to select any layout that you wish. Click on the slide that you would like to insert and click OK.
Creating Links Subtitle There are a couple of options you can choose from when creating a link. One way is to click on insert and then scroll down to Hyperlink and double-click on it. The short cut to do this is to press CTRL + K. Either way you choose to do this the same box will appear. The first empty box will ask you what text you want to display. This means what words do you want to link to a web page. If you want the words to be the website address itself you must enter that in the box. The next empty box will ask you to type the file or web page name. Here is where you must enter the address of the website that you want to link to. Then click on OK. (Here are two examples.) LaGuardia 's Home Page LaGuardia 's Home Page www.lagcc.cuny.edu www.lagcc.cuny.edu
Putting in Art Enter Subtitle Click inside of the picture once, go to insert and scroll down to picture. Then click on “from file”. To search for the picture that you would like to enter click on the arrow at the top of the open window. Scroll down until you find the location of the picture that you would like to enter. Click insert when the name of the picture appears. Note: You can insert a picture in any of the slides that I have created by going to insert and following the same directions. To delete this text click on it once and then press the delete key.
Animating a Slide To animate a slide click on slide show and click on “preset animation”. This will give you many options on how you could animate your text and/or pictures. Double-click on which ever type of animation you would like to choose and it will automatically animate the slide that you have open at that time. You will not see the animation until you view the slide show at the end.
Ending Your Slide Show To view your slide show at any time go to slide show and click on view show. To save your PowerPoint presentation go to file and click on save as. Here you can create a name for your presentation and then click save.
