3. One name - HEE Re- branding of the school again. Now ONE name under the umbrella of Health Education England (HEE) Health Education England working across the north east and north Cumbria.

4. New Trainers Please can you highlight the urgent need for new trainers at tomorrow’s workshop: In addition to those trainers who retired/stepped down from training (5 ) last year,we have 3 current trainers who are not able to take any trainees this august(new or existing)for a variety of reasons. Of those who are not already occupied with existing trainees in August,2 places will be needed for ITP’s leaving 7 slots for new trainees(or trainees who may need extensions). Full is 12 trainees and whilst recruitment doesn’t currently look great, even at half full we will struggle if any trainees need extensions. If needed we can put new trainees in hospital posts to start but they will need a GP ES from aug 2016 so please can you seek volunteers for this role-this will be in addition to anything I have already asked them and their practices for

5. GP Coaching Good Morning Please find attached a programme outline for a 5 day Coaching Development Programme for GPs, funded by NHS England. The aim of the programme is to develop GPs as coaches to provide peer support across their localities. The programme is due to be delivered in March 2016, full programme details are on the attachment including relevant application process and contact details for additional information. 8. CEPS RCGP WPBA Update on approval of CEPS We have received notification from the RCGP on the approval of CEPS. The GMC has approved Clinical examination and Procedural Skills as an assessment in the GP trainees ePortfolio. These have replaced Direct Observation Procedural Skills which no longer need to be completed by trainees. We enclose the updated manual on Clinical Examination and Procedural Skills. This includes a section for Clinical Supervisors. The ePortfolio will be updated in the New Year so that : 1. The DOPS evidence form is removed. 2. Any DOPS or Skills logs completed by the trainee are available as 'read only' pages. 3. The three questions asked of the ES during every review are updated (with the intention that the third question, which relates to the trainees competence in intimate examinations, should only be completed at the time of a trainees final review) The RCGP will confirm the date for the ePortfolio changes as soon as they are able, but in the meantime we would be extremely grateful if you could familiarise yourself with the updated manual attached.

10. Reaccreditation When you are due for re-accreditation as a trainer, you must complete a form – which is on line, and is now a word document that can be saved – to complete later May be some top tips in the trainer group!
