5 External Review The External Review team  Is comprised of professional peers with diverse experiences and rich contextual perspectives  Assesses and evaluates district effectiveness in meeting requirements of accreditation The External Review process  Provides important validation and recognition  Delivers valuable feedback and direction for improvement © 2012 AdvancED

8 Required Actions The External Review team determined Loudon County Schools must act on the following: Implement Professional Learning Communities(PLCs) with fidelity, consistency, and quality across grade levels and in all content areas. (3.5) © 2012 AdvancED

9 Conclusions  Powerful Practices: 1.The school board, district/building leadership, teachers and staff have created a culture that encourages collaboration, is highly committed to student learning and achievement and fosters deep concern and caring for students and their families. (1.3) 2. Loudon County Board of Education has established policies and supports leadership practices that ensure effective administration of the school system. The board of education focuses on the academic needs of the students as the primary concern in all decision-making processes. (2.1)

10 Conclusions 3. The Loudon County Board of Education rigorously supports, respects and protects the autonomy of the system and school leadership to plan and execute goals for improvement of student academic achievement, classroom instruction and daily operations of the schools. (2.3) 4. An exemplary, proactive program of professional development intentionally designed to target system, school, and individual needs and evaluated for its effectiveness in improving student learning should enable Loudon County Schools to achieve continued excellence. (3.11)

11 Conclusions 5.The leadership team actively monitors and disseminates data to influence a culture of high achievement. Administrators and staff have a clear vision and make substantial effort to further develop the instructional programs of Loudon County Schools. (5.5)

13 Conclusions  Required Actions: District has two years to develop and submit a written plan addressing the Required Actions. Plan is submitted to State Office of SACS- CASI/AdvancED.

14 Conclusions  Loudon County Schools will be recommended for Accreditation by the AdvancED External Review Team. The final level of Accreditation will be determined after the report has been submitted. The district will be notified by the State Office.
