Conduction is the movement of heat between objects touching one another.
A conductor is an object that heat can move through easily.

An insulator is an object that does not conduct heat well.
Potholders, a coat, and wood are examples of insulators.

The streets of New York City are similar to a conductor because they are straight lines, which would allow heat to pass through quickly and easily.
The streets of London are like an insulator because they are very curve and would not allow heat to pass through quickly.
