1 NMAHP eHealth MKN Jacqui Lunday, Chief Health Professions Officer stated that “The NMAHP eHealth Managed Knowledge network and specialist eLibrary is an essential resource that will help NMAHPs to make eHealth an integral tool for the future This will be key to enabling delivery of effective and efficient, safe and patient focused care, underpinning NMAHP practice and ultimately improving health care” www.elib.scot.nhs.uk/nmahp Login to the NMAHP eHealth Portal to access your ‘My e-Library’ space: (See Figure 1). The upper half of your profile provides access to: Update your contact details Upload an image Access to find and add local librarian details. Give permission for your profile record to be viewable to non- users. Figure 1: My e-Library Profile: Top Figure 2: My e-Library Profile: Bottom -------------------------------------------------------- The lower part of your profile provides access to: Subject Interests – Click on the ‘edit’ button to add subject interests to your profile. Click on a subject interest to pull back a list of other people with that interest. Rooms – If you are interested in a specific topic room, click on the ‘edit’ button to add your profile to a room. Any rooms added will be hyperlinked and take you straight to the room. Tags Assigned – Any tags you have assigned to resources will show up automatically in your profile. All tags will be hyperlinked and will pull back resources assigned to the specific tag. Great for re-finding information. My Communities – If you are a member of any communities in the NMAHP eHealth Shared Space, they will be listed in this section. All communities are hyperlinked and will take you straight to the community. Useful Links – Lists links to external services, communites and provides access to e-Library and Shared Space Alerts. Allow others to view your experience and current activities by adding information to the free text boxes provided.

Finding people is a huge part of communities of practice and especially finding the right people. The People section (See Figure 5) helps NMAHP’s find and contact other MKN members. Members can browse a tag cloud of subject interests or search an A-Z list. A ‘Contact a Colleague’ (See Figure 6) search facility is available from the people section and also from the Homepage. The NMAHP community has access to tagging which is a user-led activity, creating and adding tags to digital resources and people. It is a useful tool for both finding and organising resources and people. A Tag Cloud is a visible representation of tags used on the site (See Figure 3). Each tag in the cloud is a hyperlink; selecting any tag will lead you to a collection of resources and people associated with that tag. Tagging a resource is completed from the resource record (See Figure 4), click on the ‘Tags’ link or icon and fill in the form. The resource will now be accessible from the Tag cloud and your ‘My e-Library’ space. The tips section is accessible from the homepage on the left hand side. Below the tips link, you will find a link to courses and information around Information Literacy Skills.
