2 Outcomes To understand an overview of changes to math curriculum and evaluation. To understand the purpose of the Spring 2011 OSM visits. To identify what supports are needed as we transition to Common Core.

3 Race to the Top Maryland Teacher and Principal evaluations will be changing. In the Maryland Grant application, evaluation based on: 50% on student growth: 30% determined by the state MSA/HSA 20% determined by local school system measure 50% based on planning & preparation, classroom environment, instruction, professional responsibility, and other expectations outlined by school system

4 Common Core New Curriculum will require changes in what & how we teach Standards of Mathematical Practice will be expectations for all courses There are steps we can take now before the curriculum is implemented
