1 Baking Powder Biscuits

2 Ingredients 2 C. Flour 2 C. Flour 1 T. Baking Powder 1 T. Baking Powder 2 T. Sugar 2 T. Sugar ½ t. Cream of Tarter ½ t. Cream of Tarter ¼ t. Salt ¼ t. Salt ½ C. Shortening ½ C. Shortening ⅔ C. Milk ⅔ C. Milk

3 Directions 1. Preheat oven to 450 °F. 2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tarter and salt in a bowl. Stir with fork. 3. Cut-in shortening, with pastry blender, until crumbly. 4. Make a well in the center of flour mixture. Add milk and stir with fork, just until dough clings together.

4 5. On lightly floured surface, knead dough 10-12 times. 6. Roll or pat dough to ½ inch thick. 7. Cut with a 2 ½ inch biscuit cutter. 8. Place on ungreased baking sheet 1” apart. 9. Bake 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden brown Cooking Temp. 450 ° Cooking Time 10-12 minutes
