4. Life Saving Rules
Network Rail’s lifesaving rules were changed on 31st July 2014.
There are now 10 lifesaving rules under 4 key headings
Icons in blue are things you should always do
Icons in Red are things you should never do

5. How does the Life Saving Rule function work?
The Close Call is received as normal. The Close Call Reporting team operator must consider whether there may have been a breach of a Life Saving Rule
Notification will let you know immediately if a potential breach has been identified
RM opens the Close Call and review/validate the decision
Once a Life Saving Rule breach has been validated the system will allow you to action the Close Call as normal

Via NR CCS Super User Group –
NR Sharepoint site which is dedicated to Close Call
Route and function representatives on group
Change/enhancement requests raised through the site
Ongoing programme of work for system enhancements. NR
There is a CCS superuser group, which is attended by route and function reps. Any enhancements users wish to log, should be via the designated superuser sharepoint site. The enhancements will be discussed at the user group and if valid, will be assigned to the next enhancement schedule.
